The couple have a daughter named Everly, who will turn five on May 31. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan first met on the sets of ‘Step Up’ in 2006 and married three years later in July 2009 in Malibu, California. Jenna and Channing posted the following note on their respective Instagram profiles.
The note read “We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking different paths for now. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision- Just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.”
The couple were last seen together on November 6, at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘War Dog : A Soldier’s Best Friend’ before attending the ‘Kids’ Choice Awards’. Recently, in the month of March, the couple shared cute snaps from a painting session with their daughter. The photo was captioned “When you fall asleep around a toddler.”
In the month of February, Jenna had opened up to ‘Health magazine’ about her relationship with Tatum. She said that they didn’t have the ‘Perfect life’ and that they had to work hard to keep their relationship strong. She said that any relationship is good as long as both are growing together and till this point they’ve really grown together. She admitted that they worked hard to make time for each other and there were also days when they didn’t get along.
“But I think a couple needs to be conscious and to want to do the work and be willing to look at the parts of you that need work. Both of us have been pretty aware and willing to do that,” she continued. “We’ve always had the same values. But we’re not perfect! Are you kidding? We fight like other couples, we disagree about things, we have days where we don’t really like each other.”
