By Repeating Their Outfits, These Indian Stars Are Setting Examples for Sustainability

Recycling and repeating clothes seems to be the in-thing these days. Some of the Indian celebs who’ve made this trend popular recently are Alia Bhatt and Zeenat Aman.

As we know Alia Bhatt reused her ivory wedding saree for the 69th National Awards Ceremony although she draped it differently. The actress looked radiant even though her ensemble was reused.

People applauded her for taking this brave step towards sustainability especially for a prestigious occasion like the National Awards Ceremony.

The national award winner’s snaps went viral yesterday. They were flooded with a barrage of comments.

One user wrote, “She set an example for Bollywood divas as well as high profile people that repeating outfit will not put them down however wearing them at different occasions will give them multiple memories to cherish ❤️🥰🧿 No doubt @dolly.jain is expert in saree draping & Alia looked stunning.”

Another said, “I've worn my wedding lehenga more than 20 times in 16 years..there is no harm in repeating.”

“Such a role model for youngsters to repeat your clothes confidently with your head high !!”

“Inspiration for youngsters to repeat your clothes!!..also great draping ❤️❤️🙌🙌❤️.”

Another actress who encourages youngsters to reuse their clothes is veteran actress and style icon Zeenat Aman. Over the years, the actress’s modernistic fashion sense has been a source of inspiration to many. Zeenat’s charm, fashion sense and captivating social media posts continue to inspire many.

In a recent Instagram post, Zeenat revealed that most of her clothes and jewellery for occasions are borrowed.

She doesn’t want young people to feel compelled to buy clothes. She advises them not to spend beyond their means just because they see celebs in fancy outfits.

“Whether you borrow, thrift or buy, what matters is that you don’t break your bank, and actually enjoy what you wear. And of course, in my books, comfort is key!

In fact, I’ve thrown out all my high heels”, says the bollywood actress.

It is commendable for actors like Alia Bhatt and Zeenat Aman to take steps that support our environment and the ecological balance of the earth. Looks like this increasingly growing and earth-friendly trend is here to stay!
