Britney Spears shared a shocking Instagram post where she has expressed that she will not be performing live on stage anytime soon.
She expressed that she would rather prefer to share videos from her living room.
“I'm not gonna be performing on any stages anytime soon with my dad handling what I wear, say, do, or think”, she expressed.
The post was clearly laced with anger and she has made it pretty clear that she’ll not perform on stage until she has full control over her own career.
“My so-called support system hurt me deeply!!!! This conservatorship killed my dreams “, she expressed.
She not only pointed out her father but also her sister Jamie Lynn. “I don't like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed my songs to remixes!” she wrote.
Britney was put under conservatorship in 2008 when the paparazzi wrote extensively about her mental health after she was hospitalized.
The court-appointed-conservator was her father who took charge of her finances and career since 2008.
Fans have been supporting Britney and her desire to have freedom and control over her life. They made her the subject of the ‘Free Britney’ campaign.
Last month Britney addressed the court publicly for the first time and she labeled the conservatorship “abusive.” She said that the arrangement prevents her from leading a full life. “I feel ganged up on, I feel bullied and I feel alone.”
Her legal battle to end the conservatorship still continues. The judge has refused to give her control of her finances as of now. Things seemed to have moved in her favour when she was given the power to appoint her own lawyer rather than a court appointed counsel on Wednesday.
