Actor Rajiv Kapoor, youngest son of veteran actor Raj Kapoor passed away on Tuesday in Mumbai due to a heart attack. He was 58.
He was the younger brother of late actor Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor. Rajiv made his acting debut with the film ‘Ek Jaan Hai Hum’ in 1983.
He went on to act in several films like ‘Shukriya’, ‘Aasmaan’, ‘Zabardast’, ‘Mera Saathi’ and so on however it was ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ that helped him achieve stardom. The film featured actress Mandakini and was directed by his late father Raj Kapoor.
The famous film ‘Henna’ was produced by the actor in 1991 and ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’ in 1999. The actor made his directorial debut in 1996 with ‘Prem Granth’ that featured Rishi Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit. The film however didn’t do well at the box office.
Rajiv Kapoor has maintained a low profile since then and has never been active in the industry. In the year 2001, he went on to marry Aarti Sabharwal who is an architect.
