Biocon Chief Kiran Mazumdar Tests Positive for Coronavirus

Managing Director of Biocon Kiran Mazumdar has been tested positive for Coronavirus. 

On Monday the Biocon entrepreneur tweeted, “I have added to the Covid count by testing positive. Mild symptoms n I hope it stays that way.”

Her tweet received thousands of get well messages. 

Besides Kiran Majumdar other prominent personalities who contracted the virus in Karnataka were Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa, former chief minister Siddaramaiah and health minister B.Sriramulu. The ministers however have recovered.

There has been a sharp increase in Covid-19 cases in urban Bangalore. It reported 2,053 new cases on Monday, taking the total toll to 91,864 cases of which 34,408 are active. The Covid-19 death toll in Karnataka has surpassed the 4000 mark on Monday. There has been a sharp increase in cases in other parts of Karnataka too.
