Bill and Melinda Gates End Their Marriage after 27 Years of Being Together
The pair got married in 1994 on the Hawaiian island of Lanai. “After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage,” the pair tweeted.

“After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage,” the pair tweeted.
“Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives,” the tweet read.
“We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in the next phase of our lives.”
“We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life.”
The couple who have three children jointly run ‘The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.’
The foundation is well known for working for a variety of causes such as administering vaccinations, advocacy of women’s rights and it has even contributed $50 billion to fight against covid.
Bill Gates was Microsoft’s CEO until 2000 after which he gradually stepped down from his duties. He remained the chairman of the company till 2014.
Bill is the fourth richest person in the world and his estimated worth is said to be $124 billion according to Forbes.
Melinda met Bill when she joined his company Microsoft in 1987 as a product manager and it was not long before they began dating.
Bill Gates in a Netflix documentary said, “We cared a lot for each other and there were only two possibilities: either, we were going to break up or we were going to get married.”
