Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter Shaheen Bhatt unveiled her much talked about book ‘I’ve Never Been (Un) Happier’ on Wednesday. Giving her company were her sisters Alia Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt. Shaheen’s parents Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan were also present and appeared immensely happy on this special occasion. The sisters were dressed fittingly for the book launch event. Shaheen looked smart in shimmery blue formal trousers while Alia adorned a black off shouldered striped pantsuit. Pooja Bhatt paired her glittering exquisite top with her denim. At the book launch event, Alia Bhatt decided to play host and she supported and cheered her sister all the way. They spoke about the dark period when Shaheen battled with depression. Shaheen was detected with depression at the age of eighteen, five years after living with it. The book ‘I’ve Never Been (Un) Happier’ will take you through Shaheen’s personal experiences and right into her depressed mind. One can have a better understanding about depression and what it is like living with it through the book’s content. During the event, Shaheen’s family spoke about her personality and how she has always been a source of strength to her family members. Speaking about her beloved sister Pooja revealed that she’s one person whom she can turn to when she feels down in life. Shaheen is her source of strength despite being a victim of depression herself. She termed Shaheen as her “go-to person.” Pooja said that “she is the only one who gives me the strength, pardon my friend, but if I say I am feeling f****d right now, she will say, 'it's okay, I feel the same'.” If any time her father is not around Shaheen would be the only person Pooja would turn to. As for the author herself, she said that she was apprehensive about writing the book at first. She admitted, “This is one part of my life, a part of my story, not the whole story.” Writing the book came easy to her as she had the habit of maintaining journals when she was a teenager. It took her one whole year to write the book. Shaheen said, “I think it's honest. I feel being honest and courageous are two different things. My parents are like that, they are very outspoken. For me, it wasn't ever about courage. I just felt good writing it, it was quite a liberating process.” The book was launched on Wednesday in association with Landmark and Penguin Random House.
