Baby Sussex Has Been Named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and He’ll Have No Title
The new addition to the royal family will simply be called ‘Master Archie’ and will not have a courtesy title like ‘Earl’ or ‘Lord.
The Duke and the Duchess of Sussex are known to do things differently and they’ve proved this fact yet again! The proud parents have named their baby ‘Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.’ This comes as a huge surprise as names like Alexander, Arthur and Albert were being speculated by the bookmakers. Archie is derived from the name Archibald however the standalone name ‘Archie’ gained popularity over the years. ‘Archie’ sounds modern and westernized and no doubt the parents have done an amazing job when it comes to choosing a name for their royal and cute baby. ‘Archie’ means “genuine”, “bold” and “brave” and we are sure that the little bundle of joy will live up to his name.
The new addition to the royal family will simply be called ‘Master Archie’ and will not have a courtesy title like ‘Earl’ or ‘Lord. So why did the couple not choose a royal name or a courtesy title for Baby Sussex? This step appears to have been taken intentionally as the parents want their child to have “normalcy” in his very royal lifestyle. Prince Harry had claimed earlier that he’s had challenges and difficulties owing to his royal title. Things are different now though. Prince Harry has understood that his title comes with power and rights too and he has used it for a variety of charitable causes and other good purposes. However, when it comes to their son, the parents have decided to stay away from the hassle of titles. Probably, they desire a normal upbringing for their child far from all the complexities that a royal title carries.
Unlike previous royal pregnancies, this couple has chosen to keep pregnancy details private. When the baby was born they made a simple announcement via their official Instagram account probably because they wanted to enjoy quality time as a family first without media glare and attention.
Both Lady Diana and Kate Middleton posed for photographs with their babies outside St. Mary’s hospital in London. The customary photo op didn’t take place immediately for Meghan and her baby though. The new mother took her time before she was completely prepared to show herself and her baby to the world. This was another great benchmark set by the American Philanthropist as birthing can be an exhausting process for many women. She didn’t succumb to the pressures of the Royal Monarchy and made herself and her baby a priority.
Wrapped in a white shawl and a white cap, the proud parents introduced their baby to the world yesterday. Meghan was glowing with excitement in an elegant cream dress, her baby bump still clearly visible. Prince Harry appeared happy carrying the baby who was sleeping in his arms. Meghan described her birthing experience as “magic” and “amazing.” She praised her bundle of joy saying that “he has the sweetest temperament.” When asked about whom the baby has gone after, Prince Harry said that it is too early to come to any conclusion as babies change their features every two weeks.
After the photo op, Harry and Meghan presented the baby to the Queen and the Duke who seemed to be endlessly pleased. Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland was also present. Prince William was happy for his brother and welcomed him to "the sleep deprivation society that is parenting". Kate Middleton who just celebrated Louis and Charlotte’s birthday recently is looking forward to see Baby Sussex. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will meet the new baby when things quiet down.
Currently, there’s an atmosphere of jubilation in the British Monarchy as well as among the public in England. Here’s wishing the new parents: “Happy Parenting.”
