Aamir Khan’s Son Junaid Khan Makes Surprise Debut with Maharaj Without Any Promotions

Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan will be making his surprise debut with the film ‘Maharaj.’ The poster of the film features Junaid Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat who would be playing key roles. Junaid’s debut comes as a pleasant surprise for movie enthusiasts. There were no promotions of any kind and neither did the actor nor his family speak about the upcoming film. Although this move may not be typical for a star kid, it seems to be deliberate.

Junaid Khan generally maintains a low profile and neither has he given any interviews to speak about his work. Unlike other star kids who make immense efforts to promote their work through various channels, Junaid has chosen a different route.

The subject matter of ‘Maharaj’ is said to be controversial and this may be another reason why the film hasn’t been promoted as makers would want the film to be released first.

Unfortunately before the movie’s release, the film has become the subject of controversy. Certain Hindu activists are protesting against the film as they claim it portrays religious figures negatively.

Here’s some of the reactions of online users:

“The poster for Maharaj shows a tilak-sporting, tuft-bearing man on one side, while there is a sharply dressed young man (Amir Khan’s son Junaid. As always Anti-Hindu web-series and movies have been shown on Netflix in the past as well.” #BoycottNetflix

“Another hinduphobic movie in making #BoycottNetflix.”

“Netflix is back with Anti-Hindu Content.”

The movie is directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra under YRF Entertainment. The film is set in pre independent India and is based on the true events of The Maharaj Libel Case. Junaid plays the role of a fearless journalist and social reformer who takes on a powerful man ! The debutant’s acting skills are something that movie fans would be interested in seeing. There are high expectations from Jaideep too as he never fails his audience.

‘Maharaj’ is all set to premiere on Netflix on June 14.
