Aamir Khan And Ira Khan Appear in A Netflix Video Discussing about Their Joint Therapy Session And Mental Health

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is taking joint therapy sessions with his daughter Ira Khan to resolve their old differences.

In an inspiring Netflix video, Aamir appeared with Ira, and Dr Vivek Murthy, to shine a light on the crucial issue of mental health.

“Therapy is so helpful. I think she (Ira) pushed me down that path. I would strongly recommend therapy to anyone who feels the need for it? It has been helpful for me. In fact, Ira and I also have started joint therapy. The two of us go to a therapist for our own relationship. To work on how to make that better and issues which have been there for over years," Aamir mentioned during the chat.

In the video, the actor revealed that he was too busy focusing on his career. As a result, he missed spending significant moments with his children which he now deeply regrets. They missed his presence in the family during important times.

“Ira was struggling with depression at the time, she is much better now. But then she needed me. Junaid is starting his career. He has lived his life without me. And now, perhaps he is taking the last big step in his life, towards his career. If I am not with him at this time, then what’s the point? Azad is 9 years now. In another 3 years, he will be a teenager. His childhood won’t come back.”

Earlier, in a podcast show with Rhea Chakraborty, the actor opened up about his relationship with his children and how he regrets not spending enough time with them. Ira Khan on her part, has been candid about her struggles with mental health. She underscored that there needs to be understanding between a parent and child and that a parent-child bond is a very significant relationship.

Joint therapy sessions is an increasing trend in which parents and children attend therapy sessions together. It helps improve family relationships by addressing underlying emotional and communication problems.
