The passengers of flight 1958 were placed in a different aircraft that took off later in the morning. Airport officials said that the John Glenn Columbus International Airport remained operational although there were minor flight delays.

After the flight landed, the airport facility posted this tweet: “Emergency crews responded to an aircraft incident at CMH this morning involving a reported engine fire. The aircraft landed safely and the airport is open and operational.”

The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate this case.

The news of this incident comes days after another engine caught fire during its takeoff from Charlotte Douglas Airport in North Carolina. A mechanical snag was the cause of the incident. No injuries were reported.
