10 Cities Including Chennai Will Receive Heavy Rains, And Schools Shut
Chennai and adjoining areas to receive heavy rainfall. Many schools and colleges having examination, stands cancel.
The southern part of India is all set to experience rainfall for which many schools and colleges have been shut. Chennai, Villupuram, Cuddalore, and Dudingal are some of the regions that will experience immense rainfall and might have flood-like situations.
Many districts in South India have been issued a yellow alert. These districts include Tiruvallur and Kanchipuram which may receive moderate levels of rainfall. Tambaram is set at orange alert as it is about to have the highest amount of rainfall.
IMD issued an alert that claimed wind speeds reaching close to 80 KMPH and humidity to be around 80 percent. While the minimum temperature the 24 degrees to 27 degrees. Schools and colleges which had examinations had to postpone because of immense rain.
Respective district collectors have been advised who are taking necessary steps to ensure the safety of the people and their assigned districts. Most of the collectors have shut schools in their districts keeping in mind the growing wind speed and the precipitation rate.
The rain was recorded at 5:30 am, Cuddalore 7 cm, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Poonamaree, and Red Hills received a collaborative rainfall of close to 6 cm. These districts will be highly affected and will also cause immense challenges for the local people.
