Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’ has been a favourite in the horror genre since long. In fact, the 1897 novel has been adapted on screen, gothic novel, comic strip, animation, repeatedly. Irish author Bram Stoker created a legendary character of Vlad Dracula, a blood-thristy demon who resides in his castle in Transylvania. A novel, that created history is still considered, a landmark familiarizing and influencing the vampire fantasy in art, cinema, and literature.
An account recorded in first-person narrative, the novel is about a man who travels down to Transylvania on invitation by Count Dracula, to provide him legal support. Told in epistolary formal, though letters and diary entries, the novel is not just arresting but conspicuously commanding and filled-with drama.
Interestingly, more than a mere rogue, ‘Dracula’ is portrayed as the antagonist in the novel, the all in all.
And unquestionably, Dracula is immortal, the un-dead, who lives for eternity, and always makes sure to come back amidst mankind, with just any media at his service.
