‘Avengers: Endgame’ Topples ‘Avatar’ Becoming the Highest Grossing Film

Last Sunday has been remarkable for Marvel, as well as, the entire Avengers team. ‘Avengers: Endgame’ went on to become the highest-grossing film of all time, even surpassing ‘Avatar’.

The last chapter of this Marvel blockbuster was one of the most awaited flicks of 2019. Recently, Walt Disney re-released ‘Avengers: Endgame’ in June with a number of new footages. It was also a tribute to late legendary comic artist Stan Lee.

It was on Sunday, that the superhero saga crossed ‘Avatar’ in terms of its box-office collection, grossing $2.790.2 billion, worldwide. Previously, ‘Avatar’ struck a record with $2,789.7 billion and that was a decade ago.

As the film hit the no. 1 spot yesterday, one of its casts Chris Hemsworth aka Thor celebrated the achievement on his Instagram account mentioning, “Thank you to all the fans around the world that lifted Avengers Endgame to historic heights making it the top grossing film of all time !!”.

 

As per sources, ‘Avatar’ will have its sequel very soon, as director James Cameron will start rolling his camera in 2021 and that too from the house of Disney!

Looking at Disney’s recent box-office accumulation, including the presently running ‘The Lion King’, we won’t be taken aback if ‘Avatar 2’ holds up a new feat for the world.
