This Is How Will Smith Met Michael Jackson for the First and the Last Time

Recently Will Smith took to his YouTube page to share the story of how he met his idol, the king of pop- Michael Jackson for the first and only time.

Will Smith had been to the BET awards when he realized that Michael Jackson was there too. “I wanted to meet him my whole life.” Smith said. He was determined to meet his idol, Michael Jackson as he had never met the ‘King of Pop’ before. The day was coming to an end and Smith soon realized that his chance of meeting Michael is gradually slipping away.

There were people all around and getting closer to the ‘pop icon’ was not an easy task. The chances were grim. Suddenly, Smith witnessed people screaming and the crowd had gone into a frenzy.

Smith was grabbed, moved and placed into a dirty utility closet by his security that had mops and bulbs. Suge Knight- the co-founder of Death Row Records had caused some disturbance that led to safety concerns. Smith was facing the door inside the closet and trying to listen to all the cries and screams outside and when it starts to get quiet; he heard a voice behind him say “Hey.”

Smith was shocked and scared to hear the voice and when he turned around, much to his dismay he saw the ‘King of Pop’ standing right behind him. “Hey! How you doing?” said Michael. The pair spoke about Suge Knight’s inclination towards ‘Trippin’ and comic books. "I don't know anything about no comic books but I'm here with Michael Jackson, I ain't gonna tell him that," Smith joked.

Luckily for Will Smith, someone had clicked a snap of the two of them together. The meet, however, got over fast. Michael’s security rushed to the room and pushed the ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ aside and took Michael away. However, before leaving, Michael made eye contact and said “Bye Will, see you around” and then he was gone. That’s how Smith met the ‘King of Pop’ under unusual circumstances.

Smith said that he has to thank Suge Knight for the short but sweet meet. Suge Knight is the well-known record producer and a former American footballer. His record company- Death Row Records rose to fame with Dr.Dre’s breakthrough album- 'The Chronic' in 1992. That being said, the producer is facing charges of murder after a hit and run incident.
